Guwahati:
Main Minister Meghalaya Conrad K. Sangma hated the use of his father’s ten -year video, late speech by Purna A. Sangmy in parliament to push through the narration against separatism.
On Monday, the former main Minister of Manipur Nonghombam Biren Singh said that former spokesman for Lok Sabha Pa Sangma advocated the “dangerous idea” to divide the northeast into smaller states on ethnic lines.
Singh, who shares a video of the Senior Sangma’s speech in Parliament, favors Kukiland and other smaller states in the region, said that similar attempts have been made today in the internal affairs to manipure to destabilize the state.
Kukiland or a similar separate administration was the demand for people manipuru Kuki-Zo, which since May 2023 was captured in an ethnic conflict with most meiteis. More than 250 people died and approximately 60,000 became a homeless in conflict.
“The situation of manipure is unique. This state is home to several small, vulnerable indigenous communities whose protection required to carry out the permission of the inner line (ILP). The current crisis is not political at its core. It results from a comprehensive combination of challenges: drug threat, illegal immigration, forest destruction and systematic persecution”.
“After years of efforts to protect our indigenous populations, we have begun to make real progress, such as ILP implementation, a hard -to -won success,” he wrote further before Potshot took at the main Minister Meghalay.
He said that Mr. Conrad Sangma should know that ethnic violence in manipure was not spontaneous, but stimulated by those who felt threatened and insecure.
“Do Mr. Conrad Sangma, that manipur has already started fencing of the boundaries? That the free movement regime (FMR) is now strictly regulated? Did he notice an alarming increase in unrecognized villages at manipuro borders?” Mr. Singh wrote.
It was not clear why he focused on the main Minister Meghalaya.
Mr. Singh said that when manipur faced serious challenges, others refrained interference with their inner affairs. He added that the same courtesy was expected, but some chose a different path that was powered by narrow interests rather than real interest.
“Today, different groups in the northeast are beginning to recognize the severity of FMR, ILP and border safety. Manipur’s experience should serve as lessons, not a platform for political posture,” Singh said.
“Manipur is home to 32 indigenous tribes whose identities, cultures and way of life deserve protection. Avoiding illegal immigrants or interfering with affects this gentle balance.
Main Minister Meghalaya responded to X: “It is unfortunate that @nbirensingh pulled her name (L) Shri Pa Sangma. Sangma has always fought her for the inhabitants of the North East, a strong advocate for various questions that were not at this time, and it wasn’t in the post, and being in the post. The post, and it is not that it is all that is in the sanction.
