Jantar Mantar protest update: Opposition support grows as Wangchuk’s hunger strike continues on 20
Rao shared a picture of Wangchuk on her Instagram on Thursday with the caption “I support Sonam” and said it was disturbing to “witness complete silence” despite his hunger strike.
“I stand in solidarity with Sonam Wangchuk, Abhijeet Dipke, CJP and all the citizens of this country, young and old, who are protesting for the rights of our students. I salute Sonam ji, Neha, Maneesh, Ameen and all others for going on hunger strike to ensure that our justice is served. Each of our nation has reminded us that we are owed and counted,” she wrote.
“It is so disheartening to witness the utter silence this hunger strike has been met with, even after 19 days. What will it take for those in power to listen to the people?… it is shocking and inhumane,” she added.
