Telangana Gurukul students are excelling in NEET (UG) 2026
Telangana Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGSWREIS) has announced that more than 333 students are expected to secure admission in MBBS, BDS and other allied medical programs based on NEET-2026 results.
Of the total 1137 candidates who appeared from the welfare gurukuls, three scored more than 500 marks and 70 scored between 400 and 500 marks. The top scorers were from the Chilkur facility (Boys): Chindam Naga Chaitanya (560), Allam Praneeth (510) and G Srinivas (505).
According to officials, more than 200 candidates would secure MBBS seats and more than 100 would get BDS seats after the counselling.
Social Welfare Minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar said the results reflected the state government’s focus on expanding educational opportunities for students from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Minorities and other disadvantaged sections.
He said the residential education system has been strengthened through infrastructure development, digital learning facilities, specialized coaching for competitive examinations, academic monitoring and student welfare programmes. These measures supported students in preparing for entrance exams at the national level.
Mr. Laxman Kumar appreciated the efforts of students, parents, principals, vice-principals, lecturers and various staff for their contribution in the results. He said the government would continue to improve residential educational institutions by improving academic facilities and providing support to students and faculty members. He congratulated the candidates and said their achievements will encourage other students to pursue medical education.
