The workshop on monitoring and evaluation of school education ends
The National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) in New Delhi concluded the South Regional Workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) of School Education here on Friday.
The five-day workshop from July 13 to 17 brought together education administrators, policy planners and monitoring officers from Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu and Telangana.
According to a press release, the workshop focused on strengthening results-based management (RBM), monitoring and evaluation systems and the use of key performance indicators (KPIs) under Samagra Shiksha. The discussions concerned the use of UDISE+, NAS, PARAKH and other national data sets to support planning, monitoring and decision-making in school education.
Director of School Education, Telangana, E. Naveen Nicolas, presented the Telangana Model of School Education Management at the workshop. He outlined the state’s initiatives, including the state breakfast programme, digital literacy programmes, Amma Adarsha Pathashala committees, community participation and technology-based monitoring systems. He also called for cooperation among states to support the objectives and implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Participants also discussed learning outcomes, dropout rates, inclusive education, digital education, vocational education and governance.
