7,763 candidates to appear for UPSC prelims at 17 centers in Visakhapatnam
The district administration has made elaborate arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Preliminary Examination – 2026 scheduled to be held on May 24.
Joint Collector G. Vidhyadhari, who reviewed the arrangements with Collectorate officials on Friday, directed the departments concerned to ensure reliable conduct of the examination at 17 centers in the district.
A total of 7,763 candidates are expected for the exam which will be held in two sections Paper-I from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM and Paper-II from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM.
Officials have been instructed to ensure drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, furniture and camera surveillance in all the centres. Police security, traffic control and medical facilities are also provided.
The Joint Collector said mobile phones, Bluetooth devices and other electronic gadgets will be strictly prohibited. Metal detectors and low-energy jammers would be deployed in the centers. Candidates have been advised to reach the respective centers at least 30 minutes before the commencement of the examination and bring a valid identity proof along with the e-admit card.
