“Anuj Kanuujia, shooter Mukhtar Gang, who carried a cash reward for £ 2.5, was killed at a meeting after a heavy fire exchange in Jamshedpur with the joint team of the STF and Jharkhand police,” said the next CEO (UP Special Labor Force, Law and Rank).
42 -year -old Kanuujia, a resident of the village of Bahlolpur in the Chiraiyakot Police Station in the Mau district, committed her first murders in 2003 in the Ranipur Police Station in the same district.
Over the years, he has become infamous for several criminal activities, including murder, attempted murder and blackmail. A total of 23 criminal cases were registered against him, including the Gangster Act, Murder, an attempt to murder in the Mau, Ghazipur and Azamgarh districts.
Mr. Yash said during the meeting, the police restored two guns – one 9 mm and one 0.32 drilling – from Kanaujia. Police and military forces commonly use 9 mm pistols.
“By the way, Kanuujia met his end to Mukhtar Ansari’s first anniversary, the gangster himself, under whose shadow he rose to power in the criminal world,” StF said.
Ansari (63), a five -time MU Sadar, died on March 28, 2024 in the Banda hospital for alleged cardiac arrest, while stored in the Band district prison.
Police sources said Kanuujia initially entered the world of crime because of personal hostility in his village. Ansari gave him protection and soon became a dreaded sharpshooter in a gang.
His acquaintance grew as he blackmail money from entrepreneurs in Mau and the surrounding districts.
His wife, Reena and a relative, Shivratan, who helped him blackmail his activities, was arrested almost two years ago in Jamshedpur. Since 2022, Kanuujia lived in Jamshedpur with her wife. After her arrest, however, temporarily left the city before returning under another identity. He managed to avoid police captivity by often changing places and resort in cities across Bihar and Jharkhand.
In addition to blackmail, he also participated in the security of commissions from contractual stores.
The head of the police official said that up to 23 cases were registered against Kanuujia at various police stations in Mau, Ghazipur and Azamgarh districts.
“Deputy Police Director (DSP) STF, DK Shahi, who led the team, received firearms injury,” he added.
