HC to hear the plea for the delayed construction of the Suchitra-Komplyly above-ground corridor

Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court on Thursday adjourned till July 30 the hearing of a court petition seeking to direct the authorities to expedite the construction of the elevated corridor from Suchitra to Kompalla on the Hyderabad-Nizamabad National Highway. 44.

C. Snehit Reddy, a 33-year-old engineer from Kompalla, filed the plea saying that the Union government had proposed to construct four six-lane elevated corridors from Secunderabad to Medchal on NH-44 under the Bharatmala Pariyojana scheme. Work on the elevated corridor from Suchitra to Kompalla began in 2002 and was scheduled to be completed in 2024.

For various reasons, the deadline for the completion of the corridor was extended to April 2026. Even after this deadline, the corridor remained unfinished, the petitioner claimed. He claimed that the stretch from Suchitra to Medchal on the state highway is highly accident prone. Several lives have been lost and many injured in road accidents on this route, he claimed. He asked the authorities to ensure that the construction of the corridor is completed at the earliest.
