NSU pulls out big Rath Yatra in Tirupati

On the occasion of ‘Jagannath Rath Yatra’ in Puri, the National Sanskrit University (NSU) organized a chariot procession in Tirupati on Thursday.

Devotees raised slogans of “Jai Jagannath” as the chariot passed through the main roads of the temple town of Tirupati. Passersby stopped briefly to pray. The event was conducted by the university’s Utkal Peetham (Odisha Chair), in line with the annual Puri Jagannath Rath Yatra.

After the necessary prayers, the ‘Sobha Yatra’ started from the Jagannath Temple located inside the university campus and circumambulated the campus. Academic dean Prof. Rajanikant Shukla, Registrar Kadiyam Venkatanarayana Rao, Finance Officer-in-Charge Prof. Radha Govind Tripathi, Dean (Student Welfare) Prof. S. Dakshinamurthy Sharma, Odisha Chairman Adviser Prof. G. Sankaranarayana, Director Prof. Rath. Bhu head prof.

University students made all the arrangements and participated in the distribution of ‘prasadam’ to the devotees during the procession.
