A special court for crimes against women in Guntur on Wednesday sentenced two persons to life imprisonment in a dowry harassment case that led to the death of a married woman and her young daughter in 2020, District Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal said in a statement.
According to the prosecution, the victim, daughter of Bachina Vijayalakshmi of J. Pangulur in Prakasam district, got married to Narra Kalyan Chandra on August 3, 2017. Her family reportedly gave 400 grams of gold, a plot of land, agricultural land and ₹1.5 lakh as dowry.
