Hotel worker beaten to death in Madhapur; two arrested

A 32-year-old hotel worker was allegedly beaten to death by two men at a hotel in Madhapur late on Tuesday night over allegations that he molested one of the accused’s daughters.

The deceased was identified as Senepalli Bhaskar, a native of Upparpalli village in Wardhannapet mandal of Warangal district. He was working at Hotel Sri Sri Suites (Noma) opposite Image Garden Road in Madhapur and lived near his workplace.

Police said they received a Dial-100 call around 11:47 p.m. Tuesday reporting a disturbance at the hotel. When they reached the spot, the officers found that Bhaskar had been assaulted by two men identified as Raju and his brother-in-law Kumaraswamy.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Bhaskar had been harassing Raju’s daughter for the past few days. Police said Raju, who harbors a grudge over the matter, had come to Hyderabad from Hanamkonda along with Kumaraswamy on July 14. The pair attacked Bhaskar with sticks in the hotel before fleeing the scene.

Bhaskar was taken to a private hospital where doctors declared him brought dead at 1:05 am on Wednesday.

Madhapur police registered a case of murder and arrested both the accused. Further investigation is underway.
