Myanmar and neighboring Thailand were swept on Friday with a high -intensity earthquake and destroyed buildings, bridges and other infrastructure. In Myanmar, at least 1,002 people were reportedly killed.
India decided to deploy the contingent 80 National Reaction to Disaster (NDRF) to help and rescue work in Myanmar affected by earthquakes, the official sources said on Saturday PTI.
The federal fairy -tale staff is deployed within the “Operation Brahma” with the rescue equipment of the earthquake to provide the help of the neighboring country.
“The team of 80 NDRF workers is sent to Myanmar. The team is expected to reach Saturday evening,” said the source of PTI, adding that they will be led by a command officer.
India deployed the NDRF abroad on two previous occasions – during the Earthquake in Nepal in 2015 and the 2023 Earthquake Turkiye.
On Saturday, India sent about 15 tons of relief material to Myanmarese City of Yangon on the C130J Air Force (IAF).

India shares a 1,643 km long border with Myanmar on the east side.
