Dinjith Ayyathan, Bahul Ramesh bagged top honors at Padmarajan Awards

Dinjith Ayyathan won Best Director and Bahul Ramesh Best Screenplay for Eko at the 35th P. Padmarajan Awards announced here on Friday (May 22, 2026). The awards were instituted by the P. Padmarajan Trust in memory of the writer and filmmaker. Dinjith will receive ₹25,000, a plaque and a certificate of merit, while Bahul will receive ₹15,000, a plaque and a certificate.

Chandramathi, author of the novel Ozhukatha Oru Puzha, has been selected for the best writer award. Shanoj R. Chandran, author of the short story Arappathiri, was selected as the best short story writer. They will receive ₹20,000 and ₹15,000 along with a plaque and an honorable mention.

Mithun Krishna, author of Aparasamudra, won the Vismayasmax Young Talent Award for the first major literary work of a young writer.

The film jury was headed by writer-director Madhupal with critic Sulochana Rammohan and film critic Vijayakrishnan as members, while the literary jury was chaired by writer S. Hareesh with writers Rahul Radhakrishnan and Pradeep Panangad as members.
