Six were held in Tumakuru for supplying ganja, hydroponic cannabis to students

The Tumakuru police arrested six persons, including two students, for allegedly supplying ganja and hydroponic cannabis to college students and the general public in the city and seized the narcotics and a luxury car worth a total of ₹44.3 lakh.
The Tilak Park police registered a case under the Narcotic and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 on credible information that the accused were trying to sell ganja from a white car near Sheshadripuram College in Tumakuru on July 10.
A special team formed under the supervision of Tumakuru Superintendent of Police Ashok KV conducted an operation based on this information and arrested all the six accused on July 11. The team was led by senior officers and personnel from the Tilak Park Police Station.
Those arrested were identified as: Satish C., 37, a milkman; Pramod Kumar, 28, owner of packaging material shop, Tumakuru; Dishanth R., 21, a BCA student from Tumakuru; Darshan, 28, showroom salesman, Tumakuru; Amogha Nagabhushan, 31, a diploma student from Tumakuru; and Manjunath, 35, a resident of Bengaluru.
During the operation, police seized 1.655 kg of ganja worth around ₹2,000, 23 grams of hydroponic cannabis worth around ₹2.3 lakh and a car worth ₹40,00,000.
The total value of the seized items is estimated at ₹ 44.3 crore. Police suspect that the accused are supplying narcotic substances to college students and other consumers in Tumakuru. Further investigations are underway to trace the source of the drugs and identify other members of the network.
