On Thursday, President Donald Trump ordered the removal of any “wrong, dividing or anti -American ideology” from the Smithsonian Institution, the museum and the research center that represents the history and culture of the US. He has already signed a executive order and ordered that the vice -president of JD Vance take action.
The order also directs the interior department to restore federal parks, monuments and monuments that have been “removed or changed in recent years to maintain a false revision of history”.
What does the order say?
The order called “Restoration of truth and common sense to American history” does not clearly define what the President refer to as anti -American ideology. However, this suggests that Trump wants to remove the elements of history that conservatives consider to be a US revision, especially those that focus on systemic racism.
The Order specifically criticizes the National Museum of African American History and Culture and claims to teach that “hard work”, “individualism” and “nuclear family” are aspects of “white culture”.

“Over the last decade, the Americans have witnessed a common and widespread effort to rewrite the history of our nation and replaced objective facts with a distorted narrative powered by ideologies rather than truth,” says the executive order.
“This revisionist movement seeks to undermine the remarkable achievements of the United States by throwing its founding principles and historical milestones in the negative light.”
Trump’s order criticizes the evolving approach of the museum and calls it the reconstruction of history, which is “racist, sexist, repressive or fundamentally defective”.
“Once the Smithsonian Institution has been widely respected as a symbol of American perfection and global icons of cultural success
The Order also claims that the US Museum of Women’s History plans to celebrate athletes participating in women’s sports.
The White House did not work in the order, nor Smithsonian nor the African -American historical museum did not respond to requests for commentary.

According to Trump’s Democratic Biden Administration, “it promoted a distributed ideology that reconstructed American support for freedom as fundamentally defective and caused honored institutions such as Smithsonian and national parks, false stories”.
