A protestor dressed as Pikachu was seen to flee before protests against the arrest of President Turkey’s political opponent Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The protestor dressed as the character of Pokémon was first seen marching with other protesters and later fled when the security forces began to release water cannons.
The video of Pikachu, which fled from protests, is now becoming viral on social media.
Mayor of Istanbul Ekrem Imamoglu was arrested and imprisoned on Sunday. His arrest caused the greatest anti -government protests for decades and led to mass arrests throughout the country. Ekrem Imamoglu faces accusations related to corruption and “support of terrorism” along with about 90 other suspects.
Up to 1,900 people were arrested since the protests of the last Wednesday. At least 250 was imprisoned; 489 was released and 662 others were still processed. A total of 150 police officers were injured during protests.
