The Bengaluru Traffic Police has launched a city-wide special enforcement drive against tippers and other vehicles illegally dumping construction and demolition waste on roads and unauthorized sites in an effort to ensure safer and smoother movement in the city.

According to the traffic police, reckless dumping of construction debris impedes the flow of traffic, poses a serious threat to road safety, causes inconvenience to commuters and affects the cleanliness of cities.

As part of a special drive, police officers issued 212 warnings to vehicle drivers who were involved in the improper disposal of construction waste. The notices warn drivers against littering in unauthorized areas and encourage them to strictly comply with waste disposal regulations.

Apart from enforcement, the campaign also focuses on creating awareness among vehicle operators. Drivers were instructed about their responsibility to transport and dispose of construction and demolition waste only at authorized collection points and in accordance with the prescribed rules.

The Bengaluru Traffic Police said that an enforcement drive was conducted across the city and reiterated that strict action would continue against violators to prevent illegal dumping and ensure uninterrupted traffic and safer roads.
