Tamil Nadu Govt Transfers DVAC Chief A Arun, Appoints IG Mageshwari

The Tamil Nadu government on Monday (July 13, 2026) transferred Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) A. Arun as director of the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC). He was appointed ADGP/Director of the Tamil Nadu Police Academy at Oonamancherry.
Mr. Arun served as the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner from July 2024 to April 2026 and was transferred on the instructions of the Election Commission of India (ECI) during the recent Assembly elections. He was appointed director of DVAC on 25 May after the TVK-led coalition government headed by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay assumed office. He has now been transferred within two months of assuming office.
Inspector General of Police C. Mageshwari has been given the additional charge as Director of DVAC. He is currently serving as the Inspector General of Police in the Special Investigation Cell-I of DVAC, as per orders of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
