At least 18 people, mostly Amarnath pilgrims, were injured when two buses and a car collided in front of a community kitchen on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on Monday (July 13, 2026).
The accident took place outside the Chanderkote Langar point at around 7.20 am after one of the buses reportedly suffered brake failure, leading to a chain collision between another bus and a car, officials added.
All three vehicles, part of a Kashmir-bound pilgrim convoy, sustained damage in the incident, officials said, adding that rescuers rushed to the spot and shifted the injured to the district hospital in Ramban.
Medical Superintendent of Ramban District Hospital, Dr. Sudarshan Singh Katoch, said 18 injured were brought to the facility and released after first aid.
