MP urges journalists to constantly update their skills

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Member of Parliament Kalisetti Appala Naidu has asked journalists to constantly update their technical and language skills to excel in their careers. On Sunday, he attended the ‘Maha Sabha’ of the Andhra Pradesh Journalists’ Forum (APJF) in Srikakulam as the chief guest.

On the occasion, he asked the journalists to regularly attend orientation courses as they would get an opportunity to update their knowledge and meet veteran journalists and professors from various universities.

Several MLAs Gondu Shankar (Srikakulam), Kuna Ravi Kumar (Amadalavalasa), Gowthu Sireesha (Palasa) and N. Eswara Rao (Etcherla) appreciated the services of reporters and photographers during natural calamities and other difficult situations. APJF leaders shared the journalists’ complaints with members of the public present at the meeting.

They demanded a pension of ₹10,000 for senior journalists with more than 25 years of experience, creation of a journalism fund and financial assistance to the families of deceased journalists in the state.
