VB-G RAM G will empower rural India, benefit workers, say officers

A team of officers from the Union Ministry of Rural Development recently visited some villages in Belagavi district to see the work of Viksit Bharat-Garantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G).

A team of officers led by Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Rural Development Altaf Hussain Haji visited villages in Belagavi and Hukkeri.

They socialized with workers and officers. They also joined the Rozgar Day celebrations in Hanchinal village.

The team, which included Deputy KC Anil Kumar and Deputy Director Baldevakumar Verma, held a meeting with district level project officers and staff and gathered information on the implementation of the programme.

A team from the Ministry of Rural Development also visited the Akka Cafe, which was started under the National Mission for Rural Livelihood, and the Jal Shakti Center at the Belagavi Zilla Panchayat office.

They conducted a review of the implementation of the rural work scheme and collected feedback on the overview of the progress of various projects.

They participated in the Rozgar Day program organized by Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat and Gram Panchayat in collaboration at Hanchinal village.

Mr. Haji said that VB-G RAM G will lead to all round development of villages along with guarantee of employment of rural manpower. He urged all stakeholders to join hands for the success of the project.

The team members published brochures of the rural work scheme. They also symbolically issued work orders to some workers. They planted saplings and unveiled an information board for the plantation work started under the new scheme.

The team inspected the houses of beneficiaries under the housing scheme and some roads under the PMGSY scheme.

They visited Shramjeevi Vanadhana Vikas Kendra, which is run by women self-help groups. They appreciated the efforts of women engaged in handicrafts.

Zilla Panchayat Project Director Ravindra Bangareppanavar, Managing Director TR Mallad, Assistant Director SS Mathad, RFO Hanumant Ingalagi, ADPC Basavaraja N., DIEC Mahantesh Jangati, Technical Coordinator Muragesha Yakkanchi, CHOP Shivanand Vasannavar and others were present.
