Ensure safety of pilgrims on Tirumala trail after leopard sighting: Pawan Kalyan

Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Environment and Forests K. Pawan Kalyan has asked officials to take steps for the safety of devotees using the Tirumala trail after a leopard was found roaming near the Dorasani Mandapam.

In a press release, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said that HANUMAN (Medical and Nursing Units for Monitoring, Relief and Treatment of Wildlife) teams should be deployed to ensure that the wild cat does not cause any harm to the devotees.

He asked the forest department and the forest and vigilance wings of the TTD for proper coordination to keep the devotees safe and advised them to move in groups.

He advised the officials to take appropriate measures to ensure that the pilgrims are not disturbed. The officials explained to the deputy chief minister the measures being taken, in coordination with the forest department, TTD forest wing and TTD vigilance wing, to ensure the safety of the pilgrims.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan asked the officials to keep the pilgrims constantly alert and clear thick thickets in sensitive areas so that clear lines can be created. He stressed the need for security measures to prevent pilgrims from becoming alarmed by reports of the leopard’s presence.
