Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) General Secretary (Politics and Propaganda) and Health and Welfare Minister KG Arunraj on Thursday made it clear that the party high command had given instructions to functionaries that only elected representatives can carry out inspections.
Comments by Dr. Arunraj came against the backdrop of a woman claiming to be part of the party’s medical wing “inspecting” the government hospital in Sankarankovil, drawing heavy criticism. The minister said he had given instructions to party workers from party president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay and General Secretary and Minister for Rural Development and Water Resources N. Anand in this regard.
