Vaibhav Sooryavanshi out, Sanju Samson returns as India opt to bowl in 5th T20I
Sanju Samson back in playing XI (Image: BCCI) India captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field first against England in the fifth and final T20I in Southampton on Sunday, making two changes to the playing XI.Suryansh Shedge replaced Washington Sundar while Sanju Samson returned to the side in place of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.Explaining the toss decision, Iyer said the team decided to chase after evaluating the conditions.“We will bowl first. Based on the bowling we have done in the last few matches, we have experienced almost everything. It is a bit windy and we have been told that the wicket will not change much, so we have decided to bowl first,” Shreyas Iyer said during the toss. “I just want the boys to give 100 per cent effort regardless of the result. Stay in the moment, relax and try to give your best,” Iyer added. England captain Harry Brook, whose team leads the five-match series 3-1, said a win would take his team to the top of the ICC T20I rankings.“If we win today, we’ll go to world number one, so that’s definitely the price we’re looking at. We’ve adapted well throughout the series and we want to finish,” Brook Said. Brook also welcomed veteran Adil Rashid, who will make his 150th T20I appearance for England. They have one change to the team, Liam Dawson is back for Rehan Ahmed. ”He’s been here a long time. He is a very valuable player for us. And his skill and the guile that he has and the ability to outwit players is phenomenal. And it’s wonderful to have him inside. ” said Brook for Adil Rashid.
