India’s Sarvesh Kushare (AP Photo/Matthias Schrader) India’s Sarvesh Kushare made a strong first impression at the 2026 Monaco Diamond League by finishing third in the men’s high jump.The 31-year-old cleared 2.26m to secure a place on the podium at the Stade Louis II. This made him the first Indian to finish in the top three on his Diamond League debut and only the fourth Indian athlete to reach a top three finish at the Diamond League meet, joining Vikas Gowda, Neeraj Chopra and Murali Sreeshankar.Kushare performed consistently throughout the event, clearing 2.12m, 2.16m, 2.20m, 2.23m and 2.26m, all in his first attempt. Despite three attempts, he failed to clear 2.28m, which earned him third place.Ukraine’s Oleh Doroshchuk won the event with a jump of 2.32m, while Britain’s Jack Kimani finished second with 2.30m in his own Diamond League debut.
