India Women 59/0 in 13.4 Overs | IND W vs ENG W Live Score, One-off Test: Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma open India’s second innings with a 115-run lead

India Vs Live Score England Women, One-off Test: India produced a disciplined batting display but were denied complete control on the opening day of the Women’s One-off Test at Lord’s due to a late revival by England. Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur and Deepti Sharma all registered half-centuries as India were bowled out for 285 after enjoying some strong partnerships throughout the day.

The visitors recovered impressively from 37 for two, with Mandhana anchoring the innings alongside Jemimah Rodrigues before combining with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur in an 89-run stand for the fourth wicket. Mandhana looked set for a century before falling to 83, while Harmanpreet added a composed 58 to keep India in command through the middle overs.

However, England responded strongly after tea. Debutant spinner Mady Villiers, Sophie Ecclestone and Issy Wong struck at regular intervals to spark a collapse that saw India lose seven wickets for 85 runs. Deepti Sharma’s valuable 57 and her partnership with Sneh Rana saw India cross the 280-run mark despite late setbacks.

The day also marked a major individual milestone for Ecclestone, who overtook Katherine Sciver-Brunt to become England’s leading wicket-taker in women’s international cricket.

England’s reply got off to a cautious start as Kranti Goud removed Tammy Beaumont for just two runs. Maya Bouchier remained unbeaten on 17 alongside Heather Knight as the hosts ended the day at 21 for one, still trailing by 264 runs.

With India missing an opportunity to convert a dominant position into a higher first innings total and England looking to build on their late pace, the Test remains well balanced heading into day two at the Home of Cricket.
