Massive fire breaks out at car crash in Haderabad Chaderghat, no casualties reported

A massive fire broke out at a used car accident site in Chaderghat on Friday evening, triggering panic in the area. No casualties or injuries were reported at the time of this report.

According to fire officials, an emergency call was received around 4:20 p.m., after which seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot. Firefighters tried to bring the fire under control, operations are still ongoing.

The fire sent thick plumes of smoke into the sky, alarming residents and commuters on the busy stretch. A student appearing for an exam at a nearby private educational institute said flames could be seen rising up to the fourth floor of the building.

A preliminary probe indicated that the fire may have started in second-hand cars or decorative material warehouses in the area and quickly spread to shacks and other tin structures near the Musi river bed. The possibility of a fire starting from a pile of garbage as a result of careless smoking is also being investigated. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation, fire officials said.

Meanwhile, traffic police in Hyderabad have issued an alert. “Due to the fire in the Musi riverbed behind Chaderghat Police Station (L&O), vehicular movement is currently slow from Chaderghat Circle towards Chaderghat X Roads,” the police said. Transport personnel were deployed to manage the situation on the ground.
