‘Just a shame’: RCB star reveals Virat Kohli was secretly photographed during private meeting

Jordan Cox regrets Virat Kohli (Image: X) England’s Jordan Cox has expressed his disappointment at the lack of privacy afforded to Virat Kohli, revealing that the former Indian captain was secretly photographed during what was supposed to be a quiet catch-up in London. Cox, who met his Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) teammate and mentor last month ahead of his England Test debut at The Oval, said neither realized they had been photographed until footage of the encounter surfaced online hours later.According to Cox, the pair enjoyed a peaceful meeting in a cafe with hundreds of people passing by without disturbing them. However, the privacy they believed they had was short-lived.

“People are watching him without him knowing it”

“The upsetting thing for him is that people are following him without him knowing. Hundreds of people walked past us, nobody stopped, nobody did anything. But then after about two hours he texts me: ‘Did you see all the photos?’ I was like, ‘What the hell?'” Cox told The Guardian. The England batsman admitted he felt sorry for Kohli and said the Indian superstar rarely gets a chance to enjoy a normal life off the cricket field.“It’s just a shame how many people want a piece of him. He just wants to go under the radar, have fun and live a normal life. Unfortunately, that’s not always possible,” he added.

“He always wants to help others”

While Kohli is widely known for his ferocious intensity on the field, Cox said he is a completely different person behind the scenes. The young batsman praised Kohli for the time he invested in helping him during their time together at Royal Challengers Bengaluru and described the Indian great as one of the most dedicated senior players he has come across.“The thing I thought was most special during the IPL is how much time he gave to me as a player and for someone who has achieved so much he generally gives back. Some guys focus on their own game but he’s someone who always wants to help others before helping himself. That’s very rare,” concluded Cox.

Virat will make a comeback in the ODI series against England

Virat Kohli will return to international cricket when India begin their three-match ODI series against England on July 14, after concluding the ongoing T20I series. But before turning their sights on the ODI series, India have one last chance to end a disappointing T20I campaign on a positive note. Shreyas Iyer’s side are 3-0 up in the five-match series after suffering back-to-back defeats and will look to avoid a run of fades in the fifth and final T20I in Southampton.England, on the other hand, have a lot to play for despite having already sealed the series. Chasing a dominant 4-0 series win and a win in the final match, Harry Brook’s men could also leapfrog India to become the No. 1 T20I team in the ICC rankings.
