An Air India flight to Bengaluru was grounded early after it attempted to take off from Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram airport on Friday (July 10, 2026) morning due to technical snags.

Air India Express flight IX2980, scheduled to take off at 07:05, initially sped up for take-off, but the speed soon slowed and the flight was aborted.

Airport officials told The Hindu that a technical problem forced the pilots to return the flight.

Passengers are still inside the plane. Air India will arrange an additional flight to Bengaluru to accommodate the passengers, they added.
