Karnataka SIR: Distribution of enumeration forms crosses 77% in Karnataka

The distribution of enumeration forms for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka crossed 77% on Tuesday (7 July 18:00). However, the digitization of collected forms remained at 7.72%.

According to data released by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Karnataka, 4,27,82,130 of the state’s 5,54,32,314 voters have received census forms since the door-to-door exercise began on June 30.

As many as 17,539 polling stations, representing 29.7% of the state’s 59,050 polling stations, have completed 100% distribution of enumeration forms. Another 13,249 polling stations (22.44%) achieved more than 90% distribution.

Digitization

In terms of digitization, only two polling stations completed 100% digitization, 49 polling stations exceeded the 90% mark. The commission said 1,46,143 voters (0.26%) submitted their enumeration forms online.

The revision exercise also identified 1,00,843 voters in the ASDDO (Absent, Shifted, Dead, Duplicate or Other) category. The breakdown includes 42,120 deceased voters, 49,658 permanent transfer voters, 7,063 people already registered elsewhere, 1,574 untraceable or absent voters and 428 falling into other categories.

Highest in Belagavi

Among the districts, Belagavi recorded the highest number of enumeration forms distributed at 30.9 lakh, followed by Mysuru (22.27 lakh), Kalaburagi (19.07 lakh), Tumakuru (19.39 lakh) and Bengaluru Urban (16.9 lakh).

Three GBA divisions continued to show lower coverage compared to several districts. While North division saw distribution of 10.16 lakh out of 23.32 lakh voters, Central 8.42 lakh out of 18.89 lakh voters and South 8.74 lakh out of 21.44 lakh voters.

Raichur has so far digitized the highest number of forms at 3.71 lakh, followed by Belagavi (2.92 lakh), Chitradurga (2.76 lakh), Haveri (2.68 lakh), Hassan (2.47 lakh) and Vijayapura (2.24 lakh).
