Russia’s Sechenov University grants Basappa Salundi the status of “Visiting Professor”.

Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (SMSM) in Russia has conferred the official status of “Visiting Professor” to the Chairman of the Department of Organic Chemistry, University of Mysore, Mysuru, Basappa Salundi.

According to the statement, the university selects international experts and orders their profiles to be published on its official website.

“The status of ‘visiting professor of Sechenov University’, which has existed since 2025, is an honorary, lifelong title for recognized external experts. It does not involve formal employment or salary, as visiting professors are not full-time employees,” the statement said.

“Attracting such world-class experts increases the university’s prestige and competitiveness, creates a base of loyal, leading scientists and facilitates an increase in publications and international grants,” the statement added.
