A new road safety awareness initiative using the traditional board game – Snakes and Ladders attracted wide attention at the inaugural ceremony of Road Safety Awareness Center in Khammam on Tuesday.

Director General of Police CV Anand inaugurated the centre.

According to the police, the board game was creatively used to spread road safety awareness with snakes symbolizing traffic offenses and ladders representing safe road practices.

The novel demonstration attracted the attention of the event and captivated the visitors, especially the schoolchildren.

At the opening event, helmets were distributed to motorists and traffic police officers.

Speaking on the occasion, the DGP said that a traffic management office would be set up on the lines of EAGLE, the Telangana Anti-Drug Task Force, to improve road safety across the state.
