Hyderabad has made significant progress in the distribution of electoral forms under the ongoing Special Intensive Review (SIR) of the electoral rolls, but is lagging behind in the digitization of the forms, which means that the collection of completed forms has yet to take off.
The distribution of census forms across the state reached 96% by the end of Tuesday (July 7), according to information from the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer.
Nirmal is the only district where 100% mold distribution has been completed, closely followed by many other districts like Rajanna Sircilla, Adilabad and Siddipet. In Hyderabad, distribution is 81.5% complete, while in Rangareddy and Medchal Malkajgiri, it is 93% and 88.4% respectively.
In terms of digitization of forms, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district leads with 41.3% followed by Kumram Bheem Asifabad district with 33.31%.
Digitization will take place after the booth level worker collects the filled forms and uploads them to the designated application. Data is manually entered into the system, a back-end process that runs concurrently with form uploads.
In Hyderabad, only 3.43% of the total forms were digitized, while Medchal Malkajgiri district recorded the lowest digitization at 1.29%. Rangareddy district, which is also a part of the city, saw 3.34% digitization of forms. Distribution and collection of forms should be completed by July 24. According to information from the CEO’s office, a total of 3.24 lakh enumeration forms have been distributed across the state so far.
Once the distribution, collection and digitization is complete, the draft voter lists will be published on July 31, for receipt of complaints and objections until August 30. After claims have been processed by September 28, the final lists will be published on October 1.
