Artificial intelligence is not a substitute for human creativity, says Yarlagadda
A two-day international multilingual conference on ‘Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Development of Language and Literature’ began at St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous) in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday.
Inaugurating the conference, writer Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad said that artificial intelligence (AI) is not a substitute for human creativity but a powerful tool for the preservation and promotion of languages, literature and culture. He emphasized the need for ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence to protect linguistic diversity and literary heritage for future generations.
I. Vijayababu, Principal, VS Krishna Government Degree and PG College (Autonomous), said the conference provided an important platform to reflect on the role of artificial intelligence in the development of languages and literature.
Yamini K., Principal Software Engineer at Trace.AI, Seattle, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the potential of artificial intelligence in language technology, education, research, translation, and literary studies.
T. Satyanarayana of Godavari Global University emphasized the importance of integrating artificial intelligence into language teaching, study and research while preserving the essence of human creativity.
Conference organizer PK Jayalakshmi said the event aims to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on language and literature, explore the opportunities and challenges it presents, and promote its responsible use in academia and literary research.
The founding meeting was chaired by the vice-mayor, Mr. Hema. The conference journal and Pratibha Hindi department magazine were published by the guests.
