
A man from Assam has been arrested for allegedly murdering a 47-year-old woman and dumping her body in Tirupalya lake in Anekal taluk.
According to police, a case of unnatural death was registered at the Hebbagodi police station on May 9 after the body of a woman was found floating in a lake under suspicious circumstances.
During the investigation, an autopsy and a medical report confirmed that the woman was murdered by suffocation and suffocation.
Based on the established facts, the police registered a case of suo motu murder against unknown persons and intensified the investigation.
Using circumstantial and technical evidence, the police traced and arrested Ratan Das of Assam on May 14 from his residence at Tirupalya in Anekal taluk.
Investigators found that the accused was closely related to the victim. During interrogation, the defendant allegedly confessed that he had an illicit relationship with the woman and that her frequent pressure to marry led to disputes between them.
Police said he strangled and suffocated the woman before disposing of the body in thick grass in the middle of the lake.
The accused was produced before the court on May 15 and was remanded in judicial custody.
