
An empty air-conditioned coach of the Hyderabad-Jaipur special train (07020) caught fire at Nampally (Hyderabad) station on Friday evening, hours before its scheduled departure at 7.50 pm.
The incident occurred around 6.45pm when the rakes were being placed on the platform. Railway officials said they brought the fire under control quickly.
Three fire trucks arrived at the scene to help put out the flames. The affected coach was subsequently disconnected from the train to avoid further risk, an official report said. Authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the fire.
