Days after viral prank, Novak Djokovic reunites with prom girl and gives her autographed hat

Days after the viral prank, Novak Djokovic has reunited with the ball girl he jokingly scared during his Wimbledon second round match against Stefanos Tsitsipas. Ahead of his quarter-final match against Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime, Djokovic’s interaction with the ball girl is now heart-melting.

The Serbian great met the young ball girl backstage at Wimbledon, apologized for scaring her on center court and presented her with a signed cap as a keepsake. The cap was an apology for the viral prank Djokovic played on the girl. During his match against Tsitsipas, Djokovic asked a nearby ball girl for scissors to cut his shoulder tape.

After she cut him carefully, Djokovic suddenly pretended she hurt him and grabbed his shoulder for a brief moment. The youngster looked horrified before Djokovic immediately burst into laughter, making it clear that it was only a joke. The center court crowd also laughed and the clip quickly went viral on social media.

DJOKOVIC MET THE PROM GIRL

A few days later, Wimbledon again shared footage of the pair meeting.

“I’m sorry for the scare from the other day,” Djokovic said with a smile.

“Don’t regret it at all,” replied the prom girl. “I thought it was very funny.

Djokovic laughed before explaining: “Serbian sense of humor.”

The young man then admitted that she had been thinking about how to cope all day.

“I’ve been thinking all day how I can scare you. But I thought it would be really embarrassing if I didn’t do it right, so I decided not to.”

Djokovic appreciated the joke before reaching into his tennis bag, pulling out a Wimbledon cap and signing it.

“You did a great job,” he told her as he handed her the gift.

The two then posed for a photo together, bringing a heartwarming end to one of the tournament’s most talked about off-court moments.

The reunion comes during another impressive Wimbledon run for Djokovic. The 24-time Grand Slam champion looks in superb form as he chases a record 25th major title and eighth Wimbledon title and continues to prove that, at 39, he remains one of the favorites for the title.
