
SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST), in association with The Hindu, will organize a webinar on ‘Careers Beyond the Obvious: Unlocking New Pathways in Humanities and Sciences’, which aims to broaden the perspective of the evolving career landscape and highlight the opportunities that are emerging beyond conventional career options.
As industries increasingly value interdisciplinary skills, this session will explore how majors in the humanities and sciences open doors to careers across sectors such as research, technology, media, analytics, public policy, behavioral sciences, communications, sustainability and innovation. It will offer insight into emerging trends, industry expectations, and the growing importance of combining domain knowledge with creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
The panel will feature A. Vinay Kumar, Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Science, Humanities and Management), SRMIST; A. Duraisamy, dean, Faculty of Science and Humanities, SRMIST; Deepa Sethi, Executive Chairman, Globe, IIM Kozhikode; and Kamal Karanth, Co-Founder of Xpheno Private Limited. The webinar is the eighth in the Future Career Conversations series and will be moderated by Prince Frederick, editor and civic affairs editor, Opportunities, The Hindu.
