TVK Minister and Chief Coordinator KA Sengottaiyan said on Thursday that he still had a photograph of AIADMK supremo and former Chief Minister late J. Jayalalithaa in his pocket.
Speaking to reporters at the Coimbatore airport, Mr. Sengottaiyan, who was a nine-time AIADMK legislator before joining TVK, said the dream of a man who thought his image alone was enough had been shattered in an apparent dig at AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
“For the Athikadavu-Avinashi scheme, he held a function in which he said MGR or Jayalalithaa’s photos are not needed and his photo alone is enough. His whereabouts are unknown today. Even today, Jayalalithaa’s picture remains in my pocket,” he said, targeting Mr. Palaniswami.
On TVK’s victory, Mr. Sengottaiyan said that Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay had created history and effectively eliminated the practice of cash votes. “Only Mr Vijay can ensure good governance, provide excellent administration and create history as the permanent Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu,” he said.
