NEW DELHI: The BCCI on Thursday announced the 15-member India A squad for the upcoming one-day tri-series in Sri Lanka, with 23-year-old batsman Tilak Varma handed over the captaincy for the June assignment.The tri-series will feature India A, Sri Lanka A and Afghanistan A, with all white ball matches to be played in Dambulla. The tour will also include two multi-day matches against Sri Lanka A in Galle after the limited overs competition.The team features several emerging names from the ongoing domestic and franchise circuits, with Priyansh Arya and teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi among the main figures. Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag has been named vice-captain, underscoring the selectors’ focus on grooming young management options. Priyansh, who has impressed in recent white-ball competitions, deserves a well-deserved place alongside Sooryavanshi, one of the most talked-about young prospects in Indian cricket. Keepers Prabhsimran Singh and Kumar Kushagra were also among the selectors.Among the bowlers, Anshul Kamboj was rewarded for his strong performances, including an impressive IPL 2026 campaign. Other notable names in the squad include Ayush Badoni, Nishant Sindhu, Harsh Dubey and Vipraj Nigam.The BCCI has confirmed that the squad for the red-ball leg of the tour, comprising two multi-day matches in Galle, will be announced at a later date.
