
The Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB) on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Kerala State Information Technology Infrastructure Limited (KITSFRA) for complete digitization of temples and offices functioning under the board.
The agreement was signed at the Travancore Devaswom Board headquarters in Thiruvananthapuram by Devaswom Commissioner B. Sunilkumar and KITSFRA Director Rahul K. Raj.
Under the project, temple administration, movement of files in offices, financial transactions in temples and offices, services for devotees and various online facilities associated with the Sabarimala temple will be brought under the digital platform, an official statement said.
Officials said the first module covering online services related to Sabarimala should be implemented before the next Mandala-Makaravilakku pilgrimage season.
The digitization initiative is aimed at providing faster, more efficient and transparent services to devotees, the council said.
TDB chairman K. Jayakumar, board members K. Raju and PD Santhosh Kumar and PN secretary Ganeswaran Potty among others attended the event, the TDB statement added.
