(Photo credit: Nabi’s post X) NEW DELHI: Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi paid an emotional visit to former Afghanistan pacer Shapoor Zadran at a hospital in Greater Noida where the 38-year-old is undergoing treatment for a rare and life-threatening condition.Zadran fights hemophagocytic lymphocytosis (HLH), a serious disorder of the immune system that can trigger dangerous inflammation and damage multiple organs. He has reportedly been undergoing treatment in the Delhi-NCR region for the past few months.

To see the same tall, passionate and strong Shapoor we have always admired fighting bravely on the cricket field, lying in a hospital bed was truly heartbreaking,” Nabi wrote.He also shared photos from the intensive care unit and prayed for Zadran’s recovery, hoping that he would soon return to his family and supporters.“May Allah Almighty grant him a full and speedy recovery through His infinite mercy and blessings and may he soon return healthy, smiling and reunited with his beloved family, friends and well-wishers. Ameen,” he added.Zadran initially showed signs of improvement and was released from the hospital earlier in his treatment, but reports say he suffered a relapse about 20 days later.A left-arm pacer known for his aggressive spells, Zadran represented the Afghanistan national cricket team from 2009 to 2020. He played 44 ODIs and 36 T20Is that came during the team’s rise on the international stage.
