In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, the Gujarat government on Wednesday (May 13, 2026) transferred 72 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers.
Among the key changes, Jamnagar municipal commissioner DN Modi has been appointed as development commissioner in Gandhinagar, while Kutch-Bhuj collector Anand Patel has been transferred as commissioner of schools in Gandhinagar.
Mr. Patel has also been given additional charges as Commissioner of PM-POSHAN Yojana (Mid Day Meal) and Director of Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training (GCERT), a notification issued by the General Administration Department said. Ahmedabad District Collector, Sujeet Kumar has been appointed as Special Commissioner of State Revenue, Ahmedabad.
Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) Director Ajay Prakash has been transferred and his “services have been made available” to the Department of Energy and Petrochemicals to be appointed as the Managing Director of Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited in Vadodara.
Surat Collector, Dr. Sourabh Pardhi has been appointed Director of Civil Supplies and ex-officio Additional Secretary in the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Gandhinagar.
Bharuch Collector, Gaurang Makwana has been transferred to GEDA as Director. He was also assigned as Managing Director of Gujarat Power Corporation Limited and Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Limited.
Narmada Collector, Sanjay K. Modi has been transferred as Executive Director of Gujarat State Tribal Development Residential Educational Institution Society (GSTDREIS), Gandhinagar.
Morbi Collector, Kiran B. Jhaveri was posted as Municipal Commissioner of the newly formed Nadiad Municipal Corporation. Navsari Collector, Kshipra Agre has been appointed Commissioner of Micro, Medium and Small Enterprises (MSME), Gandhinagar. She was also given an additional charge as a service commissioner.
Dahod Collector, Yogesh Babanrao Nirgude has been appointed as Additional Development Commissioner, Gandhinagar. Kheda Collector Amit Prakash Yadav has been transferred as Additional Commissioner of Industries, Gandhinagar and has also been given additional charge as Joint Managing Director of iNDEXTb.
Gir-Somnath Collector, NV Upadhyay has been posted as Kheda District Collector. Prabhav Joshi, Managing Director of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, Gandhinagar, has been appointed as Municipal Commissioner of Junagadh Municipal Corporation.
Arvalli Collector, Prashasti Pareek has been transferred as Managing Director of Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company Limited, Gandhinagar.
