Chasing 169, SRH collapsed to 60/7 as Rabada struck an early new ball before Holder tightened the screws after the powerplay. Hyderabad were eventually bowled out for just 86 in 14.5 overs.Sudharsan anchored the innings with a 44-ball 61, hitting five fours and two sixes, while Sundar’s 33-ball 50 with seven fours and one stunning six proved key to GT’s competitiveness.“(How happy are you?) Definitely happy. I mean, I just focused on reading the situation. And obviously the wicket was completely different than in other games. So I just wanted to understand a little bit what kind of shots you can play on this wicket and be successful. And also it was important that one of the batsmen in the field played till the end. It helps,” Sundar said after the match.“(That six to square leg when you were almost sitting on the ground. How good was that?) It worked (it was in the middle), I mean I was trying to hit it right before as well, but the yorkers were hitting really well. I’m glad it worked the other way,” Sundar said while explaining the six.“(What was the plan?) The plan was not to think much. That was honestly the plan. But yes, thoughts come every now and then. But yes, like I said, I was more focused on understanding the wicket and also the situation. And I demanded that one of us, me or Sai, finish it. And happy with how I finished it. (Was it a conscious effort, up to 107%, or a conscious effort to look for boundaries? 18th jump, I didn’t really want to go all out, but of course I tried to hit as many boundaries as possible.“(What’s it like to face Rabada and Siraj in the nets?) I don’t think I should reveal too much, but yes, I have to be really disciplined and watch the ball carefully and expect them to miss a few stops where you might get a boundary or two and eventually get it. I actually gave a little, but not too much. (How satisfying when it’s defending?) about our team, about the set-up, about the kind of people who are also part of the set-up, they put a lot of importance on playing good cricket, whatever the situation, the conditions and of course we will try to understand the conditions and play according to that and that is really important in this format as well,” Sundar added.
