The infiltrator was killed on Tuesday when the Army foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of the Pir Panjal Valley.
An army spokesman said troops detected “suspicious movement around 300 meters inside their own territory in the general area of the Krishna Ghati sector along the ceasefire line” around 4:00 p.m.
“The alert forces responded quickly and foiled the infiltration attempt, ensuring that there was no breach of the ceasefire. One intruder was neutralized,” the army said.
Troops continue to dominate the area and maintain a high level of operational readiness throughout the sector, the military added.
