Liverpool have reportedly expressed interest in signing Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Rayan Ait-Nouri. The 23-year-old Algerian has been linked with a move away from the West Midlands club, and Liverpool are keen to bolster their left-back options.
Ait-Nouri has established himself as a dependable performer in the Premier League with Wolves, demonstrating the potential to compete for top-tier clubs. Liverpool are in need of reinforcements in the left-back position, especially with Andrew Robertson showing signs of decline. The Reds have been exploring several options, and Ait-Nouri’s versatility makes him an attractive candidate. Capable of playing as a wing-back, left-back, or even a winger, he could provide valuable depth and utility to the squad.

Nottingham Forest scout Chérif Oudjani has weighed in on Liverpool’s interest in Ait-Nouri, noting that the Reds’ pursuit is unsurprising. Speaking to Africa Foot, Oudjani highlighted Ait-Nouri’s experience and versatility as key factors in Liverpool’s interest:
“It’s not surprising that the Reds are interested in him. Liverpool will have a busy season in 2025/26, with the Champions League and three domestic competitions. The squad, which shouldn’t change much, will be in demand, given the large number of international players, and the manager will rotate his players.
“Rayan Aït-Nouri has been playing in England since 2020. He’s played nearly 150 Premier League matches, and he’s young and efficient. It’s no coincidence that he’s on Liverpool’s radar.”
For Ait-Nouri, the chance to join a club of Liverpool’s stature would be a significant step forward in his career. Liverpool could offer him the opportunity to compete in the Champions League and challenge for major trophies consistently.
