Man accused of sexually abusing a minor

Palluruthy police on Sunday (July 5) arrested a 76-year-old man for allegedly sexually abusing a minor girl.

The arrest followed a complaint by the girl’s mother. The case was registered citing the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses. The accused was brought to court on Monday (July 6) and remanded in custody.

The Ernakulam Rural Cyber ​​Police has initiated an investigation into a case registered on the basis of a complaint by a 26-year-old woman who alleged that her photograph was being misused by a matrimonial firm. According to the complainant, the photo she posted on Instagram was edited and circulated in a WhatsApp group. The false information and contact number were also allegedly shared through the WhatsApp community.

Accident

A man was killed after his two-wheeler hit a metro pole in Elamkulam on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Sarath Sivakumar of Adoor, Pathanamthitta. An employee of an IT company was returning home when the accident occurred. Although he was taken to a nearby hospital, doctors declared him brought dead.
