Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government after Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for austerity measures over the Iran conflict in West Asia, saying the BJP government had failed on both the economy and foreign policy. He said the appeal was a “failure”.
“As soon as the elections were over, the BJP reminded itself of a ‘crisis’. In fact, the country is facing only one ‘crisis’ and that is known as ‘BJP’. If so, many restrictions must be put in place, how will the ‘five trillion dollar jumla economy’ be created? The BJP government seems to have completely lost control and India’s business, the dollar is soaring. BJP should appeal to its corrupt allies to stop buying gold, not the public, the public can’t help anyway allow buying gold for 1.5 lakhs.BJP itself is busy converting its ill-gotten gains into gold.
“Why are the restrictions being considered only after the elections? Did thousands of chartered flights of BJP members run on water during the elections? Didn’t they stay in hotels or cook and eat food with a picture of the war? Why didn’t the BJP campaign through video conferencing during the elections? Are all the restrictions meant for the public only?” Mr. Yadav said.
Revocation will cause panic
The SP president said such calls have the potential to spread panic, anxiety and despair along with fears of recession and inflation among the business community, traders and markets. “The government’s job is to use its vast resources to overcome emergencies, not to spread fear and panic. If they are unable to run the government, then the BJP should admit its failure and not ruin the country. In any case, the real reason for this situation is the departure of the BJP government from the traditional policy of ‘non-alignment’ on foreign policy issues and the consequent pressures of the country, due to certain consequences of people’s suffering in the form of inflation, unemployment, poverty and recession. From farmers and workers to the youth, all the housewives, the employed, the professionals and the entrepreneurs – all are affected. The truth is that the BJP has failed both on the foreign and domestic fronts,” the BJP admitted of its own failure.
Mr. Yadav accused the BJP of polluting politics with electoral fraud and allegedly destroying social harmony by spreading hatred. “BJP has defiled culture and values with its behaviour; it has not spared even religion – attacking saints and sages – and now it is screaming foul over the economy. The BJP has destroyed the country in all spheres: cultural, religious, political, social and economic. The BJP will not be able to overcome the sudden outpouring of anger that has erupted after this,” the SP president will soon erupt. added.
