A Maharashtra Nashik court on Monday (May 11, 2026) remanded the accused in the Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) sexual abuse and forced conversion case, Nidu Khan, to judicial custody till May 24.
Ms Khan was produced in the court of Additional Sessions Judge KG Joshi after her police custody ended during the day. She was arrested on May 7 from Chhatrapati Sambhajninagar after she was on the run as the case came to fore following complaints by employees of the IT major’s Nashik department.
Ms Khan, who is pregnant, was sent to judicial custody as the police did not seek her remand during the hearing. She is lodged in Nashik Road Central Jail.
Apart from the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) provisions on sexual harassment and defamation, the 27-year-old software worker was also booked under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act as the complainant is a Scheduled Caste person and Ms Khan tried to forcibly transfer her despite her knowledge.
SIT probe on
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Nashik police is probing nine FIRs in the matter. One case was registered at Deolali Camp police station and eight at Mumbai Naka police station.
According to the police, the complainants have alleged exploitation, attempted forcible conversion to Islam, hurting religious sentiments, harassment and mental harassment.
After her name figured in a first information report (FIR) registered at the Deolali Camp police station, Ms Khan approached the trial court last month seeking anticipatory bail, claiming innocence and citing her three months of pregnancy. On May 2, the court dismissed the suit, saying there appeared to be a “systematic plan” to brainwash the victim.
