Karuppaiah CM was sworn in by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at the Lok Bhavan on Sunday evening. Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay was present on the occasion.
Meanwhile, the 17th Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu has been called to meet for its first meeting on May 11 at 9:30 am. Newly elected members take and sign an oath or declaration on that day.
Election of Speaker and Deputy Speaker will be held on May 12 at 9:30 am, Tamil Nadu Assembly Chief Secretary K. Srinivasan said in a statement.
