The groundbreaking ceremony for the proposed Courtyard by Marriott hotel project was held on Friday (May 8, 2026) at Lingayapalem village opposite the APCRDA headquarters in the National Capital Region.
The project, which is being developed by Southern Globe Hotels and Resorts Private Limited at an estimated cost of ₹ 200 crore, marks the commencement of construction work on an international standard hospitality facility. The foundation stone was laid by Ministers Kandula Durgesh (Tourism and Culture) and TG Bharath (Industries), Tadikonda MLA Tenali Sravan Kumar, Andhra Pradesh Twenty Point Program Implementation Chairman Lanka Dinakar and former Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana.
Speaking on the occasion, Southern Travels Director Krishna Mohan Alapati said that the hotel will come up on a two-acre plot allotted by the government in 2019. Construction is expected to begin within six months and be completed in about two and a half years, with the hotel expected to be fully operational by 2029.
The four-star luxury facility will include two 10-story towers with 176 rooms, luxury residences, a swimming pool, gym, bar and all-day dining options. There is also a banquet hall for congresses with a capacity of 2,000 to 3,000 people. The project is expected to create around 600 direct and indirect jobs.
